Tamiflu Description
Tamiflu (Oseltamivir Phosphate) is the most effective medication for treatment of Flu, Swine Flu, and all forms of Influenza. It will prevent the flu if treatment is started within 2 days after exposure to a flu carrier.Oseltamivir Phosphate attacks the influenza virus and completely stops it from spreading inside your body.
How to use Tamiflu
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Take Tamiflu exactly as directed by your health care professional. If you are going to have an intranasal live attenuated influenza vaccine LAIV within 2 days or you have had this vaccine within the past 2 weeks, inform your health care professional about the same.
Tamiflu Side Effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately. unusual behaviourespecially if the behaviour may cause self-injury difficulty breathing shortness of breath infection and/or inflammation of the sinuses nose and/or chest skin rash coughing difficulty sleeping dizziness headache nausea and vomiting change in mood.
Tamiflu Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form. Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.
Tamiflu Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly.

Tamiflu Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Tamiflu Uses
Oseltamivir Phosphate prevents influenza. It can be given to save other members of family and from getting sick. Oseltamivir Phosphate has been used for treatment of adults, adolescents, pediatric patients. It prevents the chance of spreading flu in case it outbreak. Oseltamivir Phosphate does not treat any flu other than influenza and Swine Flu. Oseltamivir Phosphate is not an influenza vaccination. It should not be given to children less than one year.

Tamiflu Storage
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep away from children and pets.
Tamiflu Precautions
You should not take oseltamivir phosphate if you are allergic to oseltamivir phosphate or any other ingredients of oseltamivir phosphate.Oseltamivir phosphate is normally not recommended for use during pregnancy or nursing, as the effects on the unborn child or nursing infant are unknown. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding while taking oseltamivir phosphate, talk to your doctor before taking oseltamivir phosphate.If you have any type of kidney disease, talk to your doctor before starting oseltamivir phosphate therapy.The use of oseltamivir phosphate along with an intranasal flu vaccine like FluMist®* has not been evaluated. However, due to the possibility for interference between these products, an intranasal flu vaccine should not be given within 2 weeks before or 48 hours after taking oseltamivir phosphate, unless it is deemed appropriate by your doctor. The type of flu vaccine administered as a shot through the skin can be given at any time relative to use of oseltamivir phosphate. |
